Joseph John Morrow K.St. J., Q.C., D.L., LL.D. (Joe)
On 16th March 2018 at a well-attended vernal Equinox meeting in Freemasons’ Hall, our new First Grand Principal and his office-bearers were installed into office in the usual dignified and friendly manner and Scottish Royal Arch Masonry entered yet another chapter in its long history.
The energy of our new leader was amply illustrated at the annual meeting in St. John Street some senior Supreme office-bearers and the Grand Superintendents, Deputes, Scribe Ezras and Treasurers from the various Provincial Grand Royal Arch Chapters. The meeting which was informal was led by our First Grand Principal and was different from what had gone before.
Joe, like his predecessor is keen to get out and about and meet us all and we would like to give him a warm welcome into his new role. On the basis of his first few weeks his tenure of office will be exciting and exhausting and we hope we can all keep up!
At a recent ceremony, our First Grand Principal was invested with the insignia of Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) by her Majesty the Queen. Of particular interest is that he wore highland dress in the Royal Arch tartan for the occasion. Congratulations Joe on an honour richly deserved!
